Not sure how to prepare for your trip to our store? Here are some frequent questions we get -- and some answers. If you don't find an answer to your question, feel free to give us a call at 789-7560.
Our professional floor layers will be happy to come to your home to check out the existing floors, let you know what kind of work (if any) is needed to install your new flooring properly, measure the space, and give you an estimate.
You need to know the area (square feet) your room is. If it's a square room, and you know how long and how wide the room is, we can take it from there. If your room is a bit more complicated, with nooks & crannies, bring a sketch with the measurements.
If you can let us know what flooring material you have laid down currently, and what's underneath it, that's helpful, too.
You can read labels, study websites, and educate yourself -- but there's really no substitute for a good, carpet-savvy sales person who knows all there is to know about carpeting. And we have those available for you.
What you need to consider is how much traffic you expect on the carpet, and what you want the carpet to feel like. You might want a softer, lightly twisted fiber in your bedroom, but a tighter twisted fiber in more high-traffic area. Different types of fiber also have different lifespans and characteristics.
Please feel free to ask us any questions you want -- we are here to help you!
Carpet cushioning is important. It affects the way your carpet feels as well as how well it insulates - both for sound and temperature - and ultimately, the lifespan of your carpet.
Spending some extra money on the cushioning underneath your carpet can prolong your carpet's life. Some carpets' warranty is conditioned upon the type and grade of cushion you select.
Factory-finished hardwood floors are a choice to feel comfortable with, since you know you will be getting factory-inspected floors that are checked for defects at the mill. Factory-finished hardwood also installs more quickly, and you don't have to put up with the dust from sanding or the odors of the products used to finish the floors.
If you already have existing cabinetry or wood paneling that you want to match the flooring to, you might want to choose on-site finishing.
New technology now allows for hardwood floors that require no waxing -- regardless of which type of finish you choose.
