The hottest trend in interior design is currently carpeting. With today's new colors and quality, carpet isn't just for comfort and convenience anymore. It's a force to be reckoned with in your interior design endeavors!
Carpet has superior qualities when it comes to creating a warm and comfortable environment. It insulates and protects against cold floors, and minimizes draft on floor level. You might even be able to lower your indoor temperature a few degrees in a room with carpeting, without it feeling colder. And nothing can beat carpet for comfort on those toes.
Arctic Carpet Services, Inc. has an impressive selection of carpet in stock - and if we don't have what you want, we can order it for you! Stop by and look at our samples!

Tile is easy to clean, and gives a clean, classy air to any room you install it in.
There are different qualities of ceramic tiles, starting with different raw materials and ranging through different firing processes to different glazing applications. Floor tiles are rated for glaze wear and slip resistance, both factors important to consider. Glaze ratings should exceed 3 for residential applications - except in bathrooms where a rating of 2 is sufficient. Indoor tiles should have a slip resistance rating of .5 or better.
If you're thinking about installing ceramic tile, starting with the correct subfloor system and setting materials is crucial. A double subfloor system with a total thickness of 1-1/4 inch over floor joists 16 inch on center is required. The top subfloor layer should be exterior grade plywood or an underlayment specifically designed for ceramic tile installation, like cementous backerboard.
If you don't provide the proper subfloor work, it can cause grout to crack and release or even tile to crack.

Wood is a material strongly associated with closeness to nature and the woods, genuine, down to earth, and still stylish. Here in Southeast Alaska, the woods are all around us, and wood floors feel like a natural choice.
We carry different species of hardwood - contact us to find out about different kinds!

Laminated floors is a quicker and easier way of giving your floors the look of hardwood, stone or tile. Laminate floors are more scratch-resistant than most regular hardwood finishes and easier to clean than the grouted tile floors. Laminates also require less when it comes to preparing the floor underneath your new floor covering. Most laminates isn't glued directly to the subfloor, which makes them more forgiving for somewhat uneven surfaces.
You can also customize your floor design with products that offer planks and squares that mix and match together.
Whether you're looking for a modern floor or an older-looking one, we can find a laminate floor to match your taste.

As a full-service flooring company, we will be happy to have our flooring specialists come put your new flooring in place for you.
The price for installation will vary depending on what type of flooring you're having put in, and also on what kind of work (if any) needs to be done prior to putting your carpet, tile, vinyl, or wood/laminate floors down.
The price also varies depending upon whether your new floor is installed in a dry or a wet room (living room or bathroom, for example), and whether it's a straightforward installation (floors) or more complicated (stairs, for example).
We will be happy to give you an estimate!

If you want a piece of carpet but not wall-to-wall carpeting, you can decide what size, shape, and color you prefer - and we will bind the carpet edges for you.
Remember -- a carpet doesn't have to go wall-to-wall! A flexible partial carpet is easy to remove for cleaning, or for redesign. It's also an option if you have vinyl or wood floors and still want the cozy, comfortable feel of a carpeted floor.
